Biography

Ilze Lacgalve has been leading the LIAA Representative Office in Canada for over two years and has been focusing on driving collaboration between Latvian and Canadian organizations and businesses. She is excited to represent Latvia, which is emerging as a vibrant hub for innovation and is known for its digital infrastructure, talented workforce, cost effective business environment and strategic location.

Ilze comes from Riga, the capital of Latvia, which is home to a growing community of tech companies, startups, and research institutions that are driving forward innovations across various industries.

Prior to taking the role with LIAA, Ilze had over 14 years experience working in the software industry in Canada at one of the world’s largest IT distributors, TD Synnex. She had extensive experience working with major security and cloud vendors including managing the Canadian software and cloud solutions platform team.

Before moving to Canada, Ilze worked in Latvia in the media and ship transportation sectors.
