Biography

Abbas Jaffery is an accomplished technology executive and digital transformation leader with over 27 years of experience across financial services, asset management, and public sectors. Based in Toronto, Abbas has a strong foundation in cloud architecture, application modernization, and digital innovation. His expertise spans across designing scalable and secure Azure-based solutions, implementing cloud migration strategies, and driving large-scale, mission-critical transformation projects.

Throughout his career, Abbas has held impactful roles, including his current position as Co-Founder and Consultant at Cure8Studios, where he leads high-value projects in cloud-native and serverless computing. He previously served as Head of Cloud Platforms and Reliability Engineering at Interac Corporation and Director of Digital Architecture and Platform Engineering at the Bank of Nova Scotia. In these roles, he spearheaded key initiatives, such as modernizing core banking systems, optimizing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, and developing secure, resilient platform architectures.

An advocate for agile methodologies and operational excellence, Abbas is passionate about delivering value through innovative cloud solutions and building high-performing engineering teams. As an advisor to the Harvard Business Review Council, board member of the Cyber Security Global Alliance, and a member of the Gartner Research Circle, he remains deeply engaged in the tech industry, shaping best practices and contributing thought leadership. Abbas holds a Digital Transformation certification from MIT Sloan School of Management, a BA in Economics from the University of Karachi, and a diploma in Information Technology from Centennial College.
